3 Bey Songs To Add To Your Playlist

By now we all know the popular self-empowering songs “Brown Skin Girl” and “Spirit” word for word, but there are some underrated songs on Beyonce’s The Lion King: The Gift album that deserve some ear time. This album was Bey’s “love letter to Africa” where she showcased a mixture of R&B and soul with Afro-beats. Here are three songs YOU NEED to listen to.

“BIGGER”

Are you feeling unimportant? Not wanted? Unappreciated? Then listen to “Bigger” for a few encouraging words to cheer you up. The song’s whole message is to let you know that even though this small thing is happening to you right now or you might be feeling down right now, do NOT let it bring you down. Know your worth.

“MY POWER”

This song will definitely get you dancing. The message is in the name of the song, POWER. If you know exactly who you are and are fully aware that nobody can take you down, then this song is definitely for you. The song even has the talented rapper, Tierra Whack, opening the first verse, so now you have to listen to it!

“NILE”

Have you ever thought about getting to know more about your African roots? Going for something and not looking back? Both Beyonce and Kendrick Lamar wrote this song word for word. This song has many deep meanings like learning about yourself more or accomplishing your dreams and not looking back, but you can listen to the song for yourself to develop your own personal meaning to it.

In all, this entire album is definitely a 10 out of 10 and goes perfectly with the live action version of The Lion King. I suggest you give it a listen sometime.
