Many of us natural sisters can relate to trying out a new style, but in the end, getting something we didn’t intend on. In the age of social media, however, YouTube can be looked to as a resource to get that doo just right. If you need to perfect that twist out, here are five natural hair vloggers that can have you living your best hair life.
Hazel Goddess: You’ve probably seen Hazel Goddess on Instagram (@hazel_goddesss). She’s well known for her one-minute style tutorials and advice on life as a full-time mom-entrepreneur. However, her YouTube videos are where it’s at! Although highly accredited for her braid-out tutorials, Hazel Goddess has a tutorial for pretty much every natural hairstyle, technique, and product—all you have to do is search!
Ny McFly: Calling all my short-haired queens! Ny McFly recently did the big chop earlier this year, so she mainly features teeny weeny afro tutorials, including coloring, how to avoid matted hair, and how to lay your edges. Although, now Ny’s channel mainly features short hair tutorials, her channel still features her previous videos from her long-haired days. All it takes is a scroll through her list of videos.
Chrissy Cousin: Braids, done. Wig, on. Sometimes maintenance of natural hair can be too much. Chrissy Cousin is an accredited natural, but protects her hair by slaying her wigs. If you are tired of rocking your Fro and are looking for some dope protective styles, she’s your girl. Remember, rocking your wigs from time to time doesn’t make you any less natural.
Diamond Candy TV: Diamond Candy is an OG YouTuber, she’s been through it all—big chops, heat damage, color, you name it. However, one thing has stayed consistent—how bomb her natural hair is! Her easy to follow videos have gained her thousands of subscribers. Even if you don’t have her curl pattern, her tutorials may assist you in achieving your perfect style.
NICKYBNATURAL: Last, but certainly not least, for my 4C queens there’s NickyBNatural. Wash day can be a chore and sometimes it seems as if nothing can combat dryness and breakage while retaining length at the same time, but NickyBNatural has the hair management down pat and she can share some tips. She is def the holy-grail YouTuber for the 4C community.
