To the class of 2020, I know it’s been hard to come to terms with the fact that our graduation isn’t going to be in the traditional way, but there have definitely been efforts to make up for it. Songs, drive-thru graduations, most commonly, virtual graduation ceremonies. Big names such as Barack and Michelle Obama, Beyoncé, Megan Thee Stallion, and Chloe x Halle are just a few of many to be featured in YouTube’s “Dear Class of 2020 – A Virtual Graduation Event” dedicated to the class of 2020.
This dedication comes as an attempt to brighten the spirits of all the 2020 graduates who have been hit with the unfortunate reality of missing senior activities. Many celebrities came together (virtually, of course) to celebrate this special and important moment in every graduate’s life.
Though it’s in no way close to the real thing, it’s definitely better than nothing at all. It feels nice to be getting recognized, even though the circumstances aren’t the best.
