Angel Reese Is Payin’ It Forward

Baller Angel Reese donates $12,000 to her high school for another student’s school year tuition.

LSU basketball star Angel Reese has become a household name for her prowess on the court,  leading the Tigers to a national championship, after all. But it’s her character off of the court, and the way she doesn’t forget where she came from that’s getting the spotlight now.

Reese recently donated $12,000 to her high school alma mater, St. Frances Academy in Baltimore. The donation covers tuition expenses for a member of the girls basketball team. The reason why she donated was because Reese actually benefited from a similar grant for her four years at the Catholic school, making this donation her form of “paying it forward.”

With her exponential popularity at an all-time high, especially now as LSU pushes for a repeat season, it’s good to recognize her impact off the court. Providing for the next generation of young stars is important to grow the game of basketball, and this is just one more way to ensure that women’s basketball in particular, continues to grow not just in Reese’s hometown of Baltimore, but all over the country.
