Chicago Sky’s star rookie, Angel Reese, will be debuting her weekly podcast on YouTube and other podcast platforms on Thursdays starting September 5th. Unapologetically Angel, the name of the podcast, will be hosted by Angel and Maya Reese, who are no relation to each other.
The podcast is being produced by Playmaker, the same people behind Shaquille O’Neal’s podcast, The Big Podcast. Angel Reese has shown a lot of enthusiasm on social media about the podcast saying, “We can be spilling the tea from our voice, our narrative, our perspective, before the blogs.”
It seems she wants to give her and her guests a space to get ahead of the media because she went on to say, “Y’all not clocking no tea because we are gonna spill the tea on our real lives, period.”
Angel Reese also told Complex, “It’s another way for me to connect with my fans and reach new audiences I wouldn’t necessarily have before.” The desire to start a podcast comes from wanting to build a connection with her audience, so that’ll probably make the platform engaging.
When it comes to the guests she’ll bring on she says, “Y’all are gonna see your favorite celebrities, actresses, artists, anybody that y’all wanna see.” I’m excited to see where this goes and the type of insight we can gain.
