Anticipated Spring Book Releases

So we ALL know what an anticipated release is: a book, TV show, or movie that we’ve heard awesome things about and just can’t wait to check out for ourselves. This year has had some really, really, REALLY cool books, TV shows, and movies scheduled to drop. So, instead of keeping it to myself, I decided to share the love! Here are some books that I’m geeking out over. They’re dropping THIS spring and you can best expect some cool reviews for each of them!

With The Fire On High by Elizabeth Acevedo

Okay, who would I be if I didn’t mention one of the hottest anticipated books of 2019? When Elizabeth Acevado dropped The Poet X, everyone on bookstagram and booktube freaked out. The Poet X was AMAZING, but With the Fire on High promises to be even better. Emoni is a teen mom who dreams of being a chef; but she’ll be lucky just to graduate high school. In this book, she really discovers what it means to be a young woman, mother, and a beast in the kitchen. It’s got lots of girl power, yummy food, and Afro-Latinx culture; I can’t wait for this book! It gets released on May 7!

The Weight of the Stars by K. Ancrum

The BEST thing about this book is that it just came out in March! It tells all about Ryann and Alexandria, two unique and diverse girls who form an unbreakable bond! Their bond is made way stronger when Ryann falls for Alexandria and the book covers everything from their romance, to growing up, and has a super dope science fiction element. LGBT romance + scifi? Say NO MORE, I’m in!

Motorcrush Vol 3 by Brenden Fletcher

Babs Tarr, Brendon Fletcher, and Cameron Stewart are a killer duo in this graphic novel about a young motorcycle racer named Domino. Domino has killer style and sick tattoos, but she’s also one of the fastest racers ever, has a super cool adoptive father, and a rough relationship with her on-again-off-again girlfriend named Lola. BUT, her life is further complicated when Domino realizes she might not exactly be human. This graphic novel is all about her realizing her origin – where did she come from? WHAT is she? And what is her future?

Motorcrush has GORGEOUS art, lots of pinks, blues, and purples, and I adore the costume design. Each of the characters has their own unique style, slang, and attitude. It makes everyone seem so much more real and vivid. The Vol 3 paperback is supposed to drop July 23 and can I just say, that’s not a moment too soon? I’ve been waiting nearly two years for the latest volume of Motorcrush! I can’t wait to see what Domino gets into!

These are just some of the many books I’m looking forward to this spring! What about you? Are any of these on your TBR? If not, add them to your list now.
