Baby Phat Is Making A Comeback

Earlier this month news broke that the famously known clothing line of the early 2000’s was making a come back! Yes…that’s right BABY PHAT is BACK! Kimora Lee Simmons made this announcement after she bought the company back after she previously sold it to Kellwood Co. for $140 million dollars in 2004.

You may be thinking how “played out” or even deem this clothing brand as unfashionable and oldschool, BUT believe it or not there are so many fashion brands that have been heavily influenced by Baby Phat. Kimora created this brand 20 years ago and it was easily spotted because of its cat logo. Baby Phat was so popular that it was able to hold solo shows at New York Fashion Week. The clothing line sold everything in the fashion spectrum. From swimsuits to jewelry, Baby Phat was your one stop shop!

The brand will relaunch this summer and will definitely be a treat for millennials, but also appeal to Generation X. Kimora won’t be handling this rebrand alone. Her two daughters Aoki, 19, and Ming, 16, will be right by her side to help her. I think this is major because I remember after every fashion how Kimora would have them close the show with her. For them to be older and able to have an input on this amazing rebrand is wonderful.

I am more than ready for this launch. My mom kept my sister and I in matching Baby Phat outfits. I hope she is able to keep the classic vibe with a new school twist. Make sure you check out Kimora’s website to keep up to date with the relaunch.

I rep the 219, Indiana. I'm a wardrobe stylist and owner of Vintage By. B. I love shopping for pieces that are different and that I know nobody else will have! But one thing I hate about shopping is going broke doing so. Throughout the years of me working in retail, I have picked up a lot of tips and tricks for saving LOTS of money when shopping. I also go against trends by Vintage shopping. I find pieces that I can pair together to create works of art. You can call me a penny pincher, but I'll look BOMB while pinching my pennies :)
