Bey & Jay Are Giving Back

The Carters are giving back!

Beyoncé and Shawn “Jay Z” Carter have recently launched their “About Love” campaign with Tiffany & Co. The couple has also partnered with Tiffany & Co. via their foundations, BeyGOOD and the Shawn Carter Foundation, for the Love Scholarship program.

“Tiffany & Co. has pledged $2 million in scholarship funds for students in the arts and creative fields,” according to CNN.

The Love Scholarship program was created to financially assist HBCU students at select HBCU schools. These schools include Lincoln University, Norfolk State University, Bennett College, University of Arkansas, and Central State University.

Showing love to HBCUs is nothing new to either of these artists. The BeyGOOD Foundation has given scholarship funds to HBCU students in the past. As we all know, Beyoncé paid homage to HBCUs during her legendary 2018 Coachella performance. A year later in 2019, Jay Z hosted an HBCU bus tour.

These scholarship funds are specifically to those who are facing financial hardships and are eligible for financial aid at their colleges.

“Students must qualify for financial aid as determined by the HBCU they attend, and the scholarships will be awarded to students who meet eligibility requirements,” said Variety.

Applications opened September 10 and will be closing on September 26 at 11:59 EST.
