No matter what music your year was defined by, Spotify Wrapped captures the soundtrack of our
lives. This annual release compiles data from its listeners into digestible, personality-defining metrics. Or so it claims. This 2024 list of most streamed artists brought some surprises, especially to the Beyhive.
Beyoncé did not make the Top 10 artist list for this year’s Spotify Wrapped, despite the success
of her most recent album Cowboy Carter. Her genre-defying album debuted back in April in a huge way. Billboard confirmed Cowboy Carter to be the first album by a Black woman to top the Top Country Albums chart, and Texas Hold ‘Em held the number one spot on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart for 10 weeks.
The result of the Spotify Wrapped is leaving Bey’s fans like Tatiyana Oates surprised. “As much as I listened to her this year I’m shocked. Like, its Beyoncé,” says Oates.
Taylor Swift held the top spot, but this year some other artists got to be in the spotlight. Coming in second on the Top 10 list is the Weeknd with his catchy R&B songs. Bad Bunny claimed the third spot and is once again the most streamed Latin artist worldwide.
