Bey’s ‘Country Carter’ Has Some Bangers

Beyoncé has take her talents to a new level with her latest release Cowboy Carter.

Beyoncé just dropped Cowboy Carter, her latest album, last night at midnight, and let me tell you, it’s a masterpiece! This time, Beyoncé is diving into the world of country music, and she killed it adding her own flavor. The album cover alone is fierce, featuring Beyoncé as a powerful Black rodeo style cowgirl riding a majestic white horse. As a fellow Texan, I feel like she’s saying, “I’m here to shake things up, again!”

I’m not usually into country tunes, but this album is a breath of fresh air into the genre. The album has 27 songs total and Beyoncé brings her signature style to each one, mixing in pop vibes and those hooks we all love. One thing about any Beyoncé album is how she pays homage to a particular artist, genre, or time period. She’s got some amazing collaborations on there, like “II Most Wanted” with Miley Cyrus, which was just one of the iTune top charters within hours of its release, according to  And let’s not forget about her tribute to the legendary Dolly Parton.

Speaking of Parton, Beyoncé’s interpretation of “Jolene” is what was needed for her first country album. She dominated the emotion and power of the song, just like Parton did back in the day. It’s proof that Beyoncé can tackle any genre and make it her own. And let’s not forget the Renaissance vibes she throws in there, like on “Spaghetti” with Linda Martell and Shaboozey. It’s like she’s taking us on a journey through time and sound once again.

But beyond the music, Beyoncé’s jump into country is a big deal for Black artists in the genre. She’s reclaiming Black country music and shining a light on a side of the industry that doesn’t always get the glow. She is also giving some of that shine to the Black country artists she worked with on this project such as Tanner Adell and Brittney Spencer just to name a couple. It’s exciting to see Bey paving the way for more diversity in country music.

Overall, Beyoncé’s country album is going to be sensational. It’s catchy, it’s fun, and it’s her testament to her endless talent. Definitely another win for Queen Bey.
