Biles Qualifies to Compete for U.S.

Simone Biles is back competing! The 26-year-old gymnast returned to competing for the first time since the Tokyo Olympics back in 2021.

The 2023 U.S. Classics, held at the NOW Arena in Hoffman Estates, IL, was Biles’ first competition back and a huge success for her. Her return was unexpected as there was no announcement, only speculation.

Not only did she come back, but she finished first place in four of the five events she competed in. According to CNN, “Biles finished in first place in the all-around, vault, floor routine and balance beam. She placed third on the uneven bars.” She now qualifies for the U.S. Championships. It’s like she never left.

Biles is proof that taking time away to focus on yourself can be beneficial. Taking a step away from things until you’re back to feeling yourself isn’t selfish. It’s often needed.

Way to go Simone Biles!
