This past weekend, three of the best Black female athletes, Simone Biles, Coco Gauff, and Brigid Kosgei made history in their respective sports.

Simone Biles continues to prove that she’s the baddest in the world of gymnastics. This weekend she wrapped up the 2019 World Championship in Stuttgart, Germany being deemed the all-time medal earner at the event. This comes as no surprise as Biles is always pushing the limits in gymnastics, constantly breaking her own records. The 22-year old now has 25 world medals!

Gauf, the 15-year old who beat Venus Williams earlier this year, is now the youngest WTA (Women’s Tennis Association) singles champion since 2004 when Nicole Vaidisova, also 15 at the time, won the event. Despite having a rocky start at the recent match, Gauff was able to redeem herself when a player pulled out due to an injury. Gauff beat Jelena Ostapenko in three rounds scoring 6-1,1-6, 6-2.

Long distance runner Brigid Kosgei shattered a world marathon record right here in Chicago. This is Kosgei’s second time winning the Chicago Marathon, but she also managed to break the women’s world marathon record running 26.2 miles in two hours and 14 minutes and four seconds. That’s 81 seconds faster than the previous record.

These powerful women have made us proud, and I can’t wait to see how they will continue to thrive. How do you guys feel about their accomplishments? Let us know with an emoji.
