The Kenwood girl’s basketball team has had a magnificent season going 11-0 (first in the conference) and 35-3 for the season.
This season was a little easy for the the Broncos going on a 16-game winning streak, but unfortunately losing at the city championship to Whitney Young. This didn’t faze the Lady Broncos as they bounced back and beat Whitney young for the state championship becoming the 4A City Champions.
BMOA recently held a celebration for the Lady Broncos and it was amazing. The event, which took place at the McDonald’s in Hyde Park, kicked off at 4:00 pm and lasted until about 6:00 pm. The celebration consisted of free bag giveaways, fun activations, live music, and food. The BMOA shined light on Chicago Sky star Angel Reese, too. When anyone ordered Reese’s McDonald’s meal, 10 percent of the earnings went to the Kenwood Lady Broncos basketball team.
Diann Jackson, the senior star center for Kenwood, was still riding high from all the excitement surrounding her. She had nothing but good things to say as she wished her underclass teammates well. “This is amazing. Winning the 4A State Championship and now being celebrated by the BMOA is a great feeling. I’m committed to Buffalo next year, so I want to say to the new Lady Broncos, in the future stay focus and take it game by game.”
Congratulations again to the Lady Broncos!
