Cardi B is cutting off Offset (for real this time). It’s been confirmed that the “WAP” rapper has filed for divorce from the Migos rapper and wants primary custody of their two-year-old daughter, Kulture, and wants Offset to pay child support, according to TMZ, but at this time the amount per month hasn’t been established. Honestly, it was only a matter of time before Cardi got sick of putting up with the same negative behavior.
The couple secretly got married back in 2017. September 20th would mark their three year anniversary. This isn’t the first split that they’ve had. About a year into their relationship, Offset cheated on Cardi and she left him. “Things just haven’t been working out between us for a long time…we just grew out of love,” Cardi said following their breakup in 2018. I guess some things really don’t change. Following this breakup, Offset crashed her Rolling Loud performance with an apology accompanied by a bouquet of flowers and a cake that read “Take me back Cardi.” (Remember that? If not, watch the video below.) As if cheating and ruining her set wasn’t bad enough, he continued to cheat for the rest of the relationship. What was the point of the apology if you’re going to just keep doing the same things? It’s no wonder why Cardi filed for divorce. She’s constantly being embarrassed in front of the entire world and people look at her sideways because she continues to take Offset back and deal with the same hurt over and over again.
Lots of people think Cardi stayed so long because of Kulture, which is partially understandable. I only say partially because Cardi shouldn’t have to suffer and continue to be put through the wringer just for the sake of being able to say that her child’s father is in her life. Regardless of whether they’re together or not, Offset played a part in making that baby so he should play a part in raising her, too.
Hopefully, Cardi is for real this time because it’s sad to see her constantly going through the same things with Offset. I wished they could’ve fixed things, but at this point, the relationship is too far gone. Maybe Offset will realize the damage that his actions caused and give an apology that he actually means.
