Tennis player Christopher Eubanks is currently competing at Wimbledon, but not a lot of people know who he is.
Eubanks has been receiving media attention for his performance and for ranking number 43 globally in ATP (Association of Tennis Players) singles, which was achieved on July 3, 2023 in a heated match with current number five player Stefanos Tsitsipas at Wimbledon.
The Atlanta native was born May 27, 1996, and has been playing tennis since his teenage years. When his friend Donald Young moved from Chicago to Atlanta, the two began training together. Eubanks was soon being coached by Youngโs parents. After playing three seasons for his high school, the preacher-kid was heading steadily into college, playing three seasons at Georgia Tech, coming out as a bonafide pro player.
Just yesterday Eubanks, who stands at 6ft. 7″, won against Tsitsipas with games 3-6, 7-6, 3-6, 6-4, and 6-4 with the victory odds in his favor being 100 to 1. Heโll be making his next appearance against currently ranked number three player Daniil Medvedev on July 12th in the major quarterfinal.
Eubanks is the last American male player competing at Wimbledon. Can he keep his winning streak going? One thing that is for certain, Eubanks is the one to watch.
