Summer is coming to a close and the start of a new school year is on the horizon. What better way to end summer than to come to the From the ‘Go Fest powered by True Star? The festival will be held Saturday, August 28th, in Douglass Park on the city’s West Side at Ogden and Sacramento and will be running from 12 pm -7 pm.
There will be a variety of interactive games and activities and promising young entrepreneurs and vendors. The fest will be hosted by Korporate and feature performances by Chi-town’s very own Dreezy and DCG. The exciting lineup of artists also includes New Ara, Big Mouf Bo, 8MatikLogan, Gayun Cannon, Happy Birthday Calvin, Chanelle Tru, King Melik, 3800 Drippyy, London Lo, Solly Bandz and many more. The event will be free for those between the ages of 13 and 19. I mean, who wants to pass up the chance to have a good time for free?

The main focus of this event is to promote peace, safety, and wellness within our city, especially for Chicago’s youth. In lieu of the uptick in violence, the event will feature messages of peace, unity and Chicago pride. “Young people in Chicago are all experiencing so much grief right now due to violence and COVID-19,” said True Star Foundation’s Executive Director/Co-founder DeAnna McLeary Sherman. “True Star wants to give them something fun and safe to do to celebrate back-to-school, with their perspective and interest in mind.”
In the spirit of having each other’s backs, we are asking that people wear their masks during this event to keep everyone safe. With that being said, there will also be an on-site administering of the Pfizer vaccine to help lower the risks and spread of COVID-19. See, this event just keeps getting better and better.
