Pierpaolo Piccioli debuted his amazing collection for Valentino Couture’s Spring 2019 collection during Paris Fashion week. I watched the show online and I wished I was there. The pieces were beautifully put together and the colors represented spring so elegantly.
All the models eyes were framed in flower petals to pair with their floral and vibrant colored ensembles. There were 65 looks and each of them was named after a flower. Piccioli pulled this inspiration from a French artist by the name of J.J. Grandville. The makeup was inspired from looks created by a makeup artist by the name of Pablo Manzoni who was deemed the makeup genius of the 1960’s.
Not only were Piccioli’s designs colorful, but the models wearing them were even more colorful as well. Over 40 black models walked in his show and out of hundreds of runway shows this show is the one that stood out the most. I think it is so amazing to see someone that represents me in runway shows. These women looked immaculate with there brown skin under these colorful garments.
On top of his amazing work on this collection and the runway show overall, Piccioli had one of the most influential super models of the world close his show wearing a sheer gown. After 14 years Naomi Campbell strutted down the runway looking younger than ever.
Pierpaolo Piccioli understands the true meaning of modern fashion, simply because he included all types of shades in his runway show. His show was the most talked about in media than any other show that was seen during Paris Fashion week. I can’t afford this brand YET, but I would definitely like to see a few of these pieces in person.
