Growing up, Disney Channel shows were a favorite part of my childhood. Do y’all remember “Lizzie McGuire”? To refresh your memory, the half hour comedy that ran from 2001-2004 was about 13 year old Lizzie McGuire and her adventures in middle school. Even if we didn’t know what Lizzie was thinking, her animated alter ego always let us know.
Well, good news for OG Lizzie McGuire fans, because not only are we getting a reboot of the show, but were also getting the original cast! Yes, is true. Hilary Duff (aka Lizzie McGuire) shared the news to Instagram recently with a caption stating, “ We are standing in what will soon be the McGuire living room. What’s up fam. We doin this” and a photo of Hilary holding a script alongside the OG cast–Hallie Todd (Jo McGuire), Robert Carradine (Sam McGuire), and her TV brother Jake Thomas (Matt McGuire). They were reunited at a script reading for the Disney+ series first episode.

The reboot reconnects viewers with Lizzie ahead of her 30th birthday. While she appears to have her New York City life together–working as a decorator’s assistant and finding luck in love–it turns out it’s still nice to be able to lean on her family, friends, and that animated Lizzie.
This is one reboot I am exited to see. Are you?
