The flu and coronavirus, aka COVID-19, have practically everyone going hand sanitizer crazy. Some businesses on Amazon have the nerve to take advantage of consumers and charge over $100 for a single bottle!

Don’t fall for the okey-doke.

The CDC recommends washing your hands for 20 seconds as the best way to fight off germs, but if there is no soap and water available hand sanitizer is definitely the next best option. If you can’t find it or don’t want to spend an arm and a leg to get some, make your own. There are lots of “recipes” online for how to make it. One important thing to keep in mind is that the key ingredient, alcohol, needs to be anywhere from 60-95 percent to kill germs effectively.
