DNC Spring Media Walkthrough

November is slowly but surely approaching! This year, the 2024 Presidential election will occur to gauge who will take the reigns for leadership in our country. President Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris are up for reelection in the fall, and the Democratic National Convention will occur in Chicago this year to officially nominate the two for a second time.

Today, the Democratic National Convention Spring Media Walkthrough occurred at the United Center, where Chicago and other national media organizations gathered to acquire more information about the convention. The DNC will officially occur from August 19th-22nd, and the goal of today’s event was to hype up the crowd for the big event. “We have a race between a candidate who invokes hate, or a candidate who inspires hope,” Governor J.B. Pritzker added. Joined by Mayor Brandon Johnson, Democratic National Convention Chair Jamie Harrison, Senior Advisor Anita Dunn, Alderman Walter Benett, and President of the Chicago Federation of Labor Bob Reiter, the Democratic choice of candidacy is definitely real.

Media outlets from across the nation gathered inside the United Center to get updates on the DNC Convention in August.

This is the first Democratic National Convention held in Chicago in 56 years. The last DNC was held in the city limits in 1968; times are certainly different now, to which Mayor Johnson promised beautiful weather, entertainment, and welcoming open arms during the convention. We are certainly excited for what is to come!
