Dreamville is heading to Creed III for their latest imprint in the music industry. J. Cole’s collective has officially been announced to executive produce the Creed III soundtrack.
At a panel discussion during ComplexCon 2022 in Long Beach, CA, the news was announced by the leading star in the Creed franchise, Michael B. Jordan. According to hiphopdx.com, toward the end of the panel, Jordan, who is also the director of the upcoming movie, shared “I’m probably gonna get in trouble. Dreamville is executive producing this album.” Fans of Dreamville and Jordan have expressed their excitement and support for this collaboration. The underlying meaning of Creed has always remained significant at never backing down from a fight that you believe in. Therefore, the collaboration of Dreamville that believes in fighting for your dreams and what you believe in, definitely co-exist within another.
With the news of Dreamville creating the soundtrack, fans are speculating that this may be the best film out of the franchise yet. Further details regarding the soundtrack will be released at a later date, but fans are surprised about the additional details released for this upcoming film. This will be the first Rocky and Creed franchise that Sylvester Stallone, playing the iconic Rocky Balboa, won’t appear in the latest installment. However, the remaining lead characters will appear played by Tessa Thompson, Wood Harris, and Phylicia Rashad and the movie’s antagonist Jonathan Majors.
Cole has also been spotlighted in the news earlier this fall regarding a major achievement in the gaming world. According to hiphopdx.com, “While his own output has been limited to a series of show-stealing guest verses, Cole has continued to put the ‘Ville on his back by becoming the first rapper to cover NBA 2K23, in addition to appearing in the game alongside Bas and long-time Dreamville producer Elite.” Not only has this label ventured into the gaming world, but also into Hollywood when they launched Dreamville films in 2015. They’ve partnered with HBO and produced J. Cole documentaries Road to Homecoming, Forest Hills Drive: Homecoming and 4 Your Eyez Only. Now fans are waiting to see what Dreamville will do with the soundtrack of one of the most popular franchises out.
