We live in a time when there are so many new artists coming out that it makes it kinda hard to keep up with all the new music. Despite this fact, there are certain artists that will forever be the center of attention and have a huge following because they set themselves apart. But for whatever reason, these same people seem to be the ones that take forever to drop new music. All the artists on this list need to drop new projects ASAP.
The Navy has been fiending for a new project and it seems like Rihanna is giving us everything but that. We got the Savage x Fenty lingerie line, Fenty Beauty, and there’s even a clothing line and a book, but where is the album? Ms. Fenty has said she’s releasing R9, but no official release date has been announced. ANTI was a masterpiece, but that was released three whole years ago. We need more.
Not only does he need to bless our ears with some more music, but he needs to finish “Break From Toronto.” The Seven Days EP came out a whole two years ago and the last actual album was put out a long three years ago. Two years doesn’t seem like that long, but when you’re living off of an EP it’s an eternity.
It’s not uncommon for Frank Ocean to dip off and leave us hanging, but the fans are getting a little fed up. Just about everybody else from Odd Future has dropped and here goes Frank Ocean leaving us hanging per usual. The wait is always worth it though.
It’s completely understandable why Bey hasn’t dropped, considering a lot has been happening in her world in the last three years. She had twins, which made her a mom of three, she was a headliner at Coachella which took months of preparation, and she played a huge in “The Lion King” reboot. Nevertheless, we’ve been itching for another album from Bey. Even a single would satisfy us for a little while. Lemonade tied us over for a minute, but it’s time for some new-new.
A couple months back, SZA led us to believe that she wouldn’t be releasing more music after her debut album Ctrl. After extensively performing the songs on the album while on tour, she sustained vocal damage that she thought was permanent. Luckily, with the help of vocal technicians as well as doctors, it’s been discovered that the damage actually wasn’t permanent. Great news for us because that means she can keep blessing us with her amazing vocals. It’s been two years and I think we’re about ready for a new release.
Considering his albums usually come out 2-3 years apart, we shouldn’t have much waiting left. DAMN. came out two years ago and he gave us a little taste of some new music when he produced the Black Panther soundtrack a year ago. What we really want is the Kendrick and J. Cole collab.
This list is far from complete, but I had to start somewhere. Be sure to be on the lookout for the continuation of the list because it’s definitely coming.
