So I went to see the new Fast & Furious movie. I, along with many others, felt that there would be very little excitement and enjoyment that could come from the movie that has made $405 Million globally so far. We were definitely proven wrong.
I’ve been a fan of the Fast & Furious franchise since I first saw the movies years ago. As good as all of the past movies have been, I feared that F9: The Fast Saga wouldn’t be able to compare considering it is the ninth movie. There’s only so much that can be done when the same plot is applied to each movie. The thing with the F&F franchise, though, is the fact that they always (and I mean always) find a way to raise the bar, meet, and exceed expectations for viewers.
(SPOILERS AHEAD! Don’t say I didn’t warn you.)
I’m still completely shook at the fact that they went to space. Like literal space. The place where satellites orbit and there’s no gravity. I was wondering what the big thing would be that made this movie stand out from the other eight and that was definitely it.
“I thought it was one of the most entertaining movies in the series. The series has fully embraced its insanity and that makes it just a little more enjoyable,” said Keith Edwards, a sophomore at Harold Washington College.
Beyond the wow factor, the movie was funny. Along with the action and comedy, the introduction of new characters and giving more to the plot was something else that made the movie a hit.
Overall, I was entertained during the entire movie. I was hesitant to see the movie at first because I didn’t think it would be that great, but I really enjoyed it. It’s definitely worth seeing.
