Englewood Branded hosted its 5th Annual Fall Fest. The fest took place at 63rd and Justine. For a Sunday afternoon, a lot of family and friends, along with residents of the neighborhood, came out to support and participate in the event.

The fest was hosted by Chicago’s very own DLow and first time host Journ3y. The fest included many activities including painting, horse riding, basketball, football, and you could even enjoy one of the amusement rides.

The event had free food that was provided by Michael Airhart’s Taste for the Homeless Café. Performers were provided by Chicago’s favorite Korporate,

Big Mouf Bo

, Jeff Konz, Happy Birthday Calvin and Rap legend KRS-One. We also got special dance performances by Team Major and The Hopeless Club.

This festival was like a family reunion that brought Englewood together. Even Fred Hampton Jr., Mixed by 3rd Eye, Big Twan, Khali Spraggins from the the hit comedy show “The Upshaws,” and Alderwomen Stephanie D. Coleman showed up and many more.

Englewood Branded owner, Corie Luckett, wanted this year’s Fall Fest to focus in breast cancer and domestic violence because those are two vital threats to African American women. If your suffering from domestic violence or abuse you are encouraged to seek help. We also encourage women to get breast exams and mammograms and for men to get tested if you feel anything abnormal.
