Foxx Speaks On Health Issues

Jamie Foxx

Jamie Foxx, a legendary actor/comedian in the industry, has been struggling with his health behind the scenes for months with limited updates to the public. However, he’s now using his platform to speak out and address his hospitalization with a positive but transparent update.

Foxx’s announcement came as a pleasant surprise when he took to social media and spoke to his fans and supporters about this trying time for him and his family. “I went through something that I thought I would never ever go through,” Foxx said in the video. “I know a lot of people were waiting, you know, wanting to hear updates, but to be honest with you, I just didn’t want you to see me with tubes running out of me and trying to figure out if I was going to make it through.” After being admitted to the hospital in April for undisclosed reasons, fans have speculated what exact condition Foxx is battling and have expressed their concerns for one of the greats passing before his time. His daughter, Corinne, stated previously that he experienced a medical complication, but no further details were released since Foxx’s latest update.

In the video released by Foxx, he did not elaborate on the reason why he was hospitalized, but he expressed his compassion for his sister and daughter that were by his side. Also, he credits them for saving his life along with the medical professionals treating him. Although Foxx wanted to go through this difficult time privately, he wanted to make sure that he eventually addressed the situation before anyone else could continue to make inaccurate assumptions. “By being quiet, sometimes things get out of hand. …Some people said I was blind, but as you can see the eyes are working, the eyes are working just fine. Said I was paralyzed, I’m not paralyzed, but I did go through – I went to hell and back,” Foxx said.

Foxx stars alongside John Boyega in the newly released Netflix film They Cloned Tyrone. Boyega took to his social media platform to share his support for his “bro” throughout his health complications and healing. He posted a photo of the two with a caption that states, “happy you’re happy bro. Always looking out for all of us and remains one of the most genuine souls in the game. I didn’t know we would be working two years after I asked for this picture with you.  What a blessing! I’m wishing you nothing but continued success and good health long-term. NO weapon formed against you shall prosper. @iamjamiefoxx”.

We send all of our well wishes and prayers to the Foxx family as they navigate this difficult time. Hopefully, we’ll be able to see Foxx fully feeling like himself again soon.

Hi! I can eat an entire jar of pickles in one setting and I LOVE to binge watch shows on Netflix. One of the most important quotes to me:
“and in that moment, I swear we were infinite.”
