After 17 years, the cast of the hit TV show “Friends” has finally reunited.
They started off individually entering Stage 24 on the Warner Bros. lot to look around the sets of the apartments and Central Perk. Filled with tears and amazed by everyone’s company, all six of actors gathered in Monica and Rachel’s apartment. Everyone talked about the fun they had and stories from getting casted to pranks on set.
James Corden hosted the interview in front of the iconic fountain where they filmed the intro and theme song. They explained their relationships throughout the years and shared the incredible statistics that show why “Friends” was so groundbreaking. Corden interviewed everyone and brought out the writers and producers so they could share how they created the show and casted each character.
Then they sat down to play Jeopardy, like when Monica and Rachel challenged Chandler and Joey for the apartment. David Schwimmer hosted it and as they played, guest stars appeared like Tom Selleck and Reese Witherspoon.
The cast sat down for a table read of some of the most iconic scenes like the jellyfish incident and Ross and Rachel’s first kiss. My personal favorite was when Lisa Kudrow recreated the scene where Phoebe finds out about Monica and Chandler’s relationship.
Throughout different segments of the reunion, Corden would ask a few questions, but the best parts were when he brought out some of the most popular side characters like Gunther, Ross and Monica’s parents, and most importantly… Janice. Corden also asked probably the most sought after question: Were there any romances behind the scenes? They’ve been asked that before, but never really answered it until the reunion. Turns out Jennifer Aniston and David Schwimmer did have interests in each other, but were always dating other people. In the end, the two put all those emotions into their Ross and Rachel characters.
Fans from around the world shared their love for the show, including celebrities like David Beckham, BTS, Kit Harrington, and Malala Youzafzai. It was a way to thank the cast and show them how much impact they had on people around the world.
A lot of miscellaneous skits happened in between the breaks. There was also a fashion show featuring Cara Delevingne, Justin Bieber, Cindy Crawford, and even LeBlanc. One of my favorite moments from the entire reunion was when Kudrow performed Phoebe’s biggest hit, “Smelly Cat” with Lady Gaga.
When I watched the reunion, I felt so much nostalgia and joy during the entire show. It was like they never stopped filming because they all still have a strong bond and love for each other. It was almost comforting, seeing everyone getting along and talking about my favorite episodes.
You can watch “Friends: The Reunion” on HBO Max alongside the entire “Friends” series.
