In the midst of this crazy and uncertain time, it’s always great to see people, especially from your hometown, playing their role to make others’ lives easier. Chicago rapper G Herbo, born Herbert Randall Wright III, recently donated 20,000 protective face masks to Cook County Jail according to Chicago Sun-Times.
This good deed came shortly after it was announced that COVID-19 cases had increased throughout the jail. The jail is even said to be one of the country’s hotspots when it comes to confirmed and spreading cases. Few things have been done to ensure the safety of jail staff as well as inmates, but these protective masks are a good start to minimizing spreading of the virus.
Though there have been a lot of negative things to come from the pandemic, there have been many good things as well. Since COVID-19 swept in, there have been so many celebrities and people with large platforms stepping in to do their part and helping out thousands of people in the process. The reason why they have to step in may not be the best, but all that matters is they’re doing what they feel is right and giving back to those in need.
Let’s use this time of panic as a time of coming together. We may not be able to physically be with the people we love, but let’s continue to spread joy and positivity to others and help when we can. Don’t look at this as a time of sorrow and mourning. See it as something positive that we can all learn and grow from.
