July is the designated month for National Social Wellness. The month is all about advocating and encouraging others to try new things and break any routine habits that may be keeping you stagnant. By doing this, it can cause more engagement with meeting new people and focusing on what’s truly important amongst each other–building authentic relationships. Social relationships not only benefit new experiences, adventures, and your mood, but they can also positively impact your physical health.
Looking for ways to take part in National Social Wellness Month? Check out the list below for three simple suggestions you can try.
Join A Yoga Group
Although yoga is about meditating and being in a quiet environment, being amongst a group with common interests can build relationships after yoga sessions. Join a yoga group this summer that does meditation outside and speak to someone new in the group after the session is over. You can potentially invite them out for coffee or lunch to build new relationships and friendships with people you may have never expected to.
Have Dinner With Someone Random
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying you should interrupt someone while they’re trying to have a peaceful dinner or lunch. But, if you see that someone may be having a bad day, ask if you can join them while they’re eating so you can talk. You never know what experiences they can possibly share or what you could learn from them. Definitely use discernment. I know that the small things can really impact someone’s life in ways that you may never know.
Take A Trip & Take A Break From Social Media
As a woman, there are always precautions that pertain to traveling alone or even in small groups. However, you can’t wait on everyone and be on their time to finally travel to your dream destinations and be exposed to new experiences in the world. The next time you take a trip, solo or with a group, definitely take some time away from social media to focus on how you feel daily and on the experiences you’re creating. Definitely take photos to help capture the moment because all we have are our memories.
National Social Wellness Month is incredibly important to positively impact others, but definitely notice the changes within yourself. It all starts with you. Make the most of it.
