Chicago State University to host Plant Truck Pop-up

Chicago State University will host Plant Truck Chicago Pop-up at Chicago State University on Sept. 18th.

If you’re a plant lover you are in luck! On September 18, Chicago State University is partnering with Get Growing Foundation to bring their mobile plant shop, Plant Truck Chicago, to campus and sell discounted plants to students, staff, and local residents.

“Studies have shown that indoor plants improve one’s mood, productivity and overall creativity,” says Leslie K. Roundtree, CSU Interim Provost and Vice President of Academic and Student Affairs. “And, given that many under-served communities throughout Chicago have no access to live plants and fresh flowers, Chicago State Foundation is excited to support an organization that provides discounted plants to garden-desert communities.”

The Plant Truck Chicago Pop-up hopes to attract neighborhood residents, where all those in attendance will adhere to the current social distancing protocols and policies implemented on campus. Attendees will be able to safely shop for plants and accessories while connecting with industry professionals available to answer questions and share information about plants’ positive impact on well-being and the environment.
