It’s sad to say that the new year isn’t off to a very great start. With the cold weather comes rising flu and COVID cases, a new, more contagious COVID variant and now we have to worry about flurona being on the loose. Rather its Delta, Omicron or flurona, the viruses are already canceled many things events that were to come. One of those postponed events is the Grammy Awards.
This marks the second year in a row that the award ceremony has been postponed. The event was scheduled to take place in Los Angeles, at the Crypto.com Arena, with the host being Trevor Noah on January 31st. CBS and the Recording Academy did state their reasoning to postpone the Grammy Awards again was in order to keep everyone safe. With the Omicron variant far too unpredictable to have an event at this capacity, it is better to be safe than sorry. Although it is upsetting to have the Grammy’s postponed, the Recording Academy did announce that a new date will be released sometime soon.
