Hair Secrets

I always get compliments on my hair and to be honest it has become apart of my wardrobe. People always wonder if it’s my hair, a wig, sew in, ect. BUT they are crotchets!

Crotchets have made a HUGE comeback due to more women of color embracing their natural hair. I remember when I was younger my mom kept me in crotchets and I find it crazy that I made my way back to them. They are so versatile and you can get so many styles with them.

There are several reasons why I have kept myself in crotchets for almost a year.

1.I have been perm free for almost 2 years and my natural hair is sooooo thick that I just never want to deal with it. I’m ALWAYS on the go and I never have the time to sit and do twist-outs or whatever else for 2-3 hours.

2.Crotchets are way cheaper. I remember the times when I spent so much money on bundles and then turned around and paid just as much to get them installed. Crotchets have been so easy on my wallet and I am so thankful for it .

3. Unlike sew-ins and wigs, you can take care of your own hair while wearing crotchets. I am able to moisturize my scalp to prevent breakage. Most sew-ins, glue-ins, wigs and etc., prevent you from taking care of your own hair. AND who can forget that dreaded itch you get from all the dirt and sweat that your scalp produces while wearing weaves and it drives me insane having to do the infamous black girl weave pat. Lol

Don’t’ get me wrong I have done other protective styles, but for some reason I am stuck with wearing this big curly hair. I normally never answer questions about my hair, but I want to share the love today!

The hair I am wearing is called Jamaican Bounce and it is made by Sensational hair. I buy this hair on I like ordering from this site because it is more expensive in beauty supply stores.

Check out this video of my favorite styles I like to wear with my crotchets.

I rep the 219, Indiana. I'm a wardrobe stylist and owner of Vintage By. B. I love shopping for pieces that are different and that I know nobody else will have! But one thing I hate about shopping is going broke doing so. Throughout the years of me working in retail, I have picked up a lot of tips and tricks for saving LOTS of money when shopping. I also go against trends by Vintage shopping. I find pieces that I can pair together to create works of art. You can call me a penny pincher, but I'll look BOMB while pinching my pennies :)
