I’m not from New Orleans so I can not identify with the emotional and mental turmoil that you all are suffering through at this very time.
I’m not from Houston so I’m not wondering will I see tomorrow because of the worlds most natural resource.
But I am from Chicago where we have a heart and watching from the sideline hurts like I’m there.
I applaud you all for banding together in everyone’s time of need. The love you all have for one another is nothing less than inspiring and heart wrenching at the same time. I’ve seen photos of newborns wading over large bodies of water and had to hold back my tears.
All of social media has been covered in love with each of you. The tragedy that has happened in your beloved city has made me wish that there was more I could do. Each life that was taken was not in vain and I pray for the rest of your lives that you understand that this was not your fault. As this storm passes, literally and figuratively it’s pertinent that all of you, Houstonians continue to stick together.
It’s scary to watch your entire life change before your eyes and everything that you’ve worked for be taken away from you. Allow this to fuel you and your loved ones. I’ve packed a bag full of everything I knew you all could use and will be sending shortly.
