There comes a point in all of our lives when we catch feelings and want to tell that special person how we feel. This sometimes isn’t necessarily the easiest thing to do. Fearing rejection or just being plain ol’ scared to talk to the person you like can cause you to not express your feelings at all. Keep reading and get some great tips on how to overcome all that.
Throw that fear out the window.
The second that you stop fearing the outcome is when you’ll be confident enough to shoot your shot and possibly make it.
The worst thing that could happen is they say no.
Okay, no one likes being rejected, but the worst that could really happen is that person says no. If they tell you no, dust yourself off and keep it moving. Eventually you’ll find someone who you like and who likes you back. Instead of thinking about the worst thing that can happen, think about the best thing that can happen.
You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take.
You never know what will come from shooting your shot. If you don’t shoot it there will be no way for the person to tell you they feel that same way. Put your pride and fear aside and go for it.
Make sure you have self-confidence going into shooting your shot. Don’t be self-conscience and unsure about yourself. This is seen as unattractive and could potentially push that special person you like away.
Get to know them first.
Don’t try to shoot your with someone you barely know. Becoming friends with them and getting to know them first will ensure that the relationship will work better if they say yes. Even if they don’t like you back, you can at least develop a friendship.
Don’t do it if it isn’t something you really want.
If you know that the relationship isn’t something you’ll be able to handle or something you really want, don’t shoot your shot. There’s no point in being in a relationship with a person if it isn’t something you want 100 percent. The worst thing you can do is waste someone’s time because that’s something you can’t get back.
Hopefully these tips will help you to gather the courage to shoot your shot. Remember, not every time is the right time to make your move. Wait for the perfect moment. If that person does turn you down, remember that there are always other fish in the sea.
