‘Inside Job’ Canceled

What is the future of Animation on Netflix?

Inside Job / Netflix

The adult animated series “Inside Job” was just canceled after two seasons and a greenlit third one.

The community online has been devastated, including myself.

Netflix in recent memory hasn’t been treating their animated properties right – from underpaying animators for “The Cuphead Show” to canceling ‘Inside Job” and now “Dead End: Paranormal Park” without any prior notice – it’s really disheartening for anyone passionate about these shows or in any animated TV shows.

The news that “Inside Job” was canceled came from the show’s creator, Shion Takeuchi, via Tweet earlier this month:

Within days, #SaveInsideJob, #RenewInsideJob immediately began to trend. Fan art and best wishes were posted everywhere online and the show’s crew began to put up their portfolios in search of new jobs. I wish them the best.

It is heartbreaking to see this unfold, and the worst part? This won’t be the end.

Netflix has begun a very anti-consumer path, from locking password sharing to the cancellation of these shows due to their “niche audiences”. In a recent Bloomberg newsletter (Netflix CEO Reed Hastings Steps Down; Interview with Greg Peters, Ted Sarandos. – Bloomberg), the Netflix co-CEOs responded with “We have never canceled a successful show. A lot of these shows were well-intended but talk to a very small audience on a very big budget.”

What do you think? Do you like “Inside Job”?
