I meant to speak on serial cheating and how toxic it really is to the emotional and mental stability of every woman and/or man it effects. Yes. Women can be serial cheaters too, adultery does not have a gender or preference. In this day and age people really believe that cheating is ok. Now don’t mistake me, I don’t agree with the stigma that cheating on your partner is the end all, be all of relationships. I also don’t agree with once a cheater always a cheater. The difference is that the person cheating in the relationship has to want to change. Not just be apologetic but wholeheartedly behave differently. I’m a strong believer in the saying, “The best apology is changed behavior”, because it is. Cheating ain’t just sexual either. For women, seeking the loss of intimacy in your own relationship is where people think it comes from. Me, myself, personally, I think it’s the same thing that urges men to cheat. That newness. That unfamiliarity. The chase. The power trip.
Women have just as big of an ego as men do, but ours is downplayed because of “society’s standards” . We’re not expected to be in tune with our sexuality and we are glamorized if we take the dating world into our own hands and make it work how we desire. They label you a “Boss”, or a “Finesser” and those women that live that kind of life thrive off of it. I was one of those women. Got what I wanted from a man without giving him anything in return. It felt great mentally, there was a power I felt I had that no one could take from me. I wasn’t emotionally or sexually involved, so I won. Until I got a little older and wanted more, but had played those that wanted to give me what I was asking for later on. Growth, right?
Men on the contrary, seek new women just because they can. They are so one track minded that they think it’s ok because well “I know where my heart is”, as if that makes us feel any more prominent in the decisions he chose to make. These thoughts and my elaborate feelings about them were brought on by our very adulterous and sometimes funny friend, Kevin Hart. I’m not 100% sure of what all happened in the extortion case that he is currently going through. But what I do know is that this is not his first time having his cake and eating it too. What bothered me the most about his entire situation was his lack of accountability. In the apology video that he so poorly chose to provide for social media’s amusement, he says “I feel like there’s a target on my back”. Kevin, honey, FROM WHERE?! Why does it have to be publicized, as if the wife’s hurt for his disrespect and humiliation isn’t going to be enough? Kevin is a talented man that is not done living his single life as much as he wants to make himself believe such. The everlasting joy shown in the photo of him and his mistress was irrevocable. He was happy where he was. As horrid as this may sound, he wanted to be where he was, by law that happiness had to be cut short and many were effected. He is a serial cheater because he isn’t ready to sit down. That newness. That unfamiliarity. That chase. That power trip, is still very much a thrill for him . And it will be until HE’S tired of it all enough to exercise restraint. It wasn’t her or losing him how she got him. Sis, he’s. not. ready.
Ya’ll fave Beyonce’ was cheated on too. Hov wasn’t ready. Stay woke.
