Miss him with that b*llshit!
Beloved rapper Kendrick Lamar has gained even more respect than he had already thanks to his current becoming the highest-grossing rap tour ever. That’s right, Lamar’s 2022 “The Big Steppers Tour” has now achieved a new milestone in hip-hop history.
Complex.com recently reported, “According to Touring Data, Kendrick’s nationwide trek has earned $110.9 million in revenue from 929,000 tickets sold across 73 shows. Big Steppers gives Kendrick the most lucrative tour ever by a rapper as a headlining act, surpassing Drake’s 2018 Aubrey & the Three Migos Tour, which pulled down $79 million in 2018 from a total of 678,410 tickets sold across 43 dates. Rounding out the top five highest-grossing tours are Drake and Future’s 2016 Summer Sixteen Tour, Kanye West and Jay-Z’s 2011 Watch The Throne Tour, Kendrick’s 2017 DAMN Tour, and Travis Scott’s 2018’s Astroworld Tour.”
If a hip-hop artist or rapper has the chance to secure a row on this impressive tour list of the highest sales, then they’re definitely legendary for our generation. Any one that’s competing for the No.1 spot with Drake and Future or even has the opportunity to be placed above them, is proof that Lamar is definitely one of the best artists in the industry.
Due to Lamar now setting this shocking record, there’s only more incentive for him to keep releasing more music and touring. Fans have been pleased with the authenticity of his performances and any fans/audiences that will miss his tour dates can watch the live of his Paris tour date that’s now streaming on Amazon Prime. Not only have fans and audiences been pleased with Lamar’s presence on stage, but digital publications have also raved positively regarding this superstar’s tour performance. According to nme.com, “In a five-star review of Lamar’s gig in Paris last year, NME wrote: “[The] tour presents a creative vision that would boggle the minds of most mere mortals. It’s a stunning, moving display from a true great of modern rap.”
Hopefully, we can look forward to Lamar releasing more music and tour dates in the next upcoming year.
