R.I.P. Kyrzayda Rodriquez

Kyrzayda Rodriquez is a 40 year old full time mom and blogger. She started her blog in 2013, but it wasn’t until 2014 that her blog took off. In 2016 she took a leap of faith and left her job to blog full time. Her love for fashion shows through her content and this is what made me notice
her. She did more than just pose for the camera; she created a story to explain her look. Late last year Kyrzayda announced that on November 2nd of 2017 she had been diagnosed with Stage 4 Gastric Cancer. Sadly, September 9, 2018, Kyrzayda lost her battle with with cancer. (from kyrzayda.com)

I thought it extremely brave of her to share this life riveting detail about her life with all of her followers. She has been transparent about everything she was going through. Most women in this position tend to hide their private lives, but her realness is what drew me to her. She wasn’t afraid to let everyone inside of her life. I currently work in a cancer center and I have seen how it affects my patient’s emotional, physical, and mental state. Kyrzayda has documented all these different changes and I think she gives people hope. Hope that you can keep going after your dreams even though there may be so many things against you. I was scouring through her comments and so many women who have cancer have stated that her blog post have helped them push through their
disease. Pushing your way through the storm is so important. The only thing between you and your dreams or aspirations is YOU. Things may happen and situations may arise, but your faith is what will keep you strong. Don’t be afraid to be open about them either! Being REAL is being FREE. Your
realness can open up so many more doors. Kyrzayda’s being open nearly doubled her following and she was able to reach out to a completely different group of people who needed her to give them hope!
