Lock Up The Ice Cream

Food tampering isn’t a joke.

It’s sad that people need to be reminded of this, but obviously it must be said because of the teenage girl that licked the Blue Bell ice cream at a Walmart in Lufkin, Texas. The ice cream culprit was originally supposed to face up to twenty years for this crime but, according to Texas police she’s too young to even be charged because she’s a minor and therefore her identity is protected under the Texas Family Code. Or so they thought. On Instagram her name is “Asia.”

Now sure, the girl is at fault, but this incident also brought into question why exactly doesn’t Blue Bell have a protective seal on their ice cream? Instead of putting a protective seal on the ice cream many stores have decided to simply place a lock on the ice cream freezers with signs reading, “Please see employee for help.” Ice cream is now getting the Tide pod treatment from 2018? Remember when people were trying to eat those things? I swear each year we stray further away from common sense.

Another young lady went and licked the ice cream at another store and posted it to Instagram, later putting that she did in fact purchase the ice cream afterwards. Disgusting nonetheless. The craziness continued when a man decided to spit in a bottle of Arizona tea. Oh, it doesn’t stop there. Someone also opened a bottle of mouthwash, drank some then spit it back into the bottle. It’s not just the teens either. The very grown Louisiana resident Lenise Martin III, 36, was recorded licking ice cream but later arrested. He was charged with criminal mischief and unlawful posting of criminal activity for notoriety and publicity. His punishment has yet to be determined.

Y’ALL MAKE ME SICK. This is just plain ignorant.

The sad truth is that ice cream isn’t safe right now because of these incidents. In my opinion young people should get some form of punishment for tampering with food or items in stores. If I had a say, the culprits that are 16 and up, would serve some jail time for a year with no probation. If you’re this old you should KNOW right from wrong. And this is wrong.

These Internet famous wannabes teens are putting the public at risk of becoming ill or possibly catching a disease. Someone needs to me made an example of. I think that might be the only way to suppress the issue from taking place again.
