So I was able to attend the grand opening of one of the two newest Snipes stores in Chicago and honestly I had a lot of fun. When I arrived, they had a live DJ inside as well as a soul food truck outside giving out free food.
This was my first time ever being inside a Snipes store and I liked a lot the items they carried. The shirts they had were really unique and they had a good selection of shoes on display. I’m not really a sneakerhead, but after this event, I feel like I might have to become one.

The overall event had a nice, chill vibe to it. The staff was super nice to everyone and was really helpful. I was able to speak with Sean Gibson, the district manager of Snipes who said he felt “fantastic” about the new store opening. He noted they that had been trying to open the store since before COVID started. The fact that the opening had finally arrived was “amazing”.
Towards the end of the event, the ribbon cutting took place. They even gave out $100 Snipes gift cards afterwards!

Overall it was a really good opening and they have definitely gained a new customer out of me. If you all want to check them out, they are located in Marshfield Plaza at 11616 S. Marshfield Ave. and make sure to tell them True Star sent you.
