McDonald’s Is Spreading The Gospel

September is Gospel Music Heritage Month. What better way to celebrate than with a gospel concert with artists like Hezekiah Walker, DJ CANVA$ and Sir The Baptist?

The McDonald’s Inspiration Celebration Gospel Tour, hosted by Lonnie Hunter, was a prime example of Black joy, faith and a good time. The tour kicked off in Chicago at the House of Hope, located at 752 E. 114th Street.  Starting off the show was DJ CANVA$. He amped the crowd up with gospel songs mixed with different hip-hop and R&B singles.

The Chicago native says he’s excited to “celebrate gospel music with September being Gospel Heritage Month.” He also said he’s excited to bring joy to the masses. “That’s a beautiful thing; to be able to serve people.”

Another must-see in the line-up is Sir The Baptist. Before going on stage, he shared a few words about what audience members can expect.  “I’m looking forward to introducing a sound to gospel that will bring classical and hip hop and gospel to the table. … It’s a very interesting performance. It’s a historic one, but it’s also one that can point us toward the future of what gospel maybe should sound like. I’m here on a mission by God to do something great.”

The 2023 tour, brought to fans by McDonald’s Black & Positively Golden movement, continues McDonald’s longstanding commitment to fostering the communities they serve. Gospel lovers across the nation will experience a message of hope and upliftment through dynamic live performances from artists who are driving change and pushing the envelope in this genre of music. Other artists fans can look forward to seeing include Bri Babneaux, DOE, Mike Teezy, Tim Bowman Jr., and The Walls Group.
