Megan Thee Stallion and Cardi B have both been continuously securing new collaborations and brand deals, actively on their social media interacting with friends, and even having recent features released with their collaborations of other artists. All that is fine and good, but fans have been anticipating when this duo will reunite after their 2020 hit single “WAP.” Fortunately, we no longer have to wait for the question to be answered.
Both rappers unexpectedly released a promo picture in a surprise announcement of their collaboration. Fans immediately took to both artists’ social media platforms to express their excitement for what fun could be expected since the duo popped out with matching multi color wigs and showing off their sultry figure. The new track is officially titled “Bongos” and is ready to break the internet again with these two icons dropping bars. According to people.com, “Their past team-up made history as the first female rap collaboration to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, going on to spend four weeks at the top spot … the collaboration still went on be certified platinum seven times in the U.S. and won an American Music Award, a BET Award, three BET Hip Hop Awards and a People’s Choice Awards, among other accolades.”

Despite the excitement for this collaboration, fans are highly anticipating Cardi B’s sophomore album after her breakout 2017 debut album “Invasion of Privacy.” Additionally, this is Megan’s first release since her 2022 album “Traumazine” and public trial and sentencing of Tory Lanez for shooting her in the foot three years ago. Fans are backing both powerhouse women supporting each other and dropping this new track that they’re deeming the hit to officially end summer with.
As more powerful women in the industry collaborate with others across all genres of the business, it’s been making a statement that the women can truly dominate the game. Maybe Megan might be featured on Cardi B’s next album or vice versa? We’ll just have to wait and see.
