Megan Shows Vulnerability on ‘Cobra’

Megan Thee Stallion shares some personal info on her new single Cobra.

Grace is incredibly important to give human beings as we all navigate this thing that we call life. Megan Thee Stallion, aka “Hot Girl” coach, has captivated fans with her freestyle lyrics and authenticity as she constantly reps her Texas hometown. As the world has witnessed the highest highs of her career, they’ve also witnessed some of the most intimate and vulnerable moments of her life. After continuing on her healing journey after the final verdict was given on Tory Lanez after the shooting incident, fans noticed that the rapper took a step back from the spotlight and increased her necessity of privacy. However, on her recent single “Cobra,” she brings fans into another depth of vulnerability that we haven’t seen from the superstar before.

Although fans and critics may assume the weight of the world isn’t as heavy on some of the most famous celebrities in the industry due to materialistic items, this rapper exposes the true realities of the trauma she’s enduring privately and in front of public scrutiny. According to, “The 28-year-old, whose name is Megan Pete, opened up in the song about dealing with multiple obstacles, including the deaths of both her parents and suicidal thoughts.“At night, I’m sittin’ in a dark room thinkin’/ Probably why I always end up drinkin’/ Yes, I’m very depressed/ How can somebody so blessed wanna slit they wrist?” Megan raps.The lyrics continue: “Never thought a bitch like me would ever hit rock bottom/ Man, I miss my parents, way too anxious, always cancel my plans.” The title of this vulnerable track “Cobra” signifies the animals’ courage and self-reliance. Furthermore, intertwining with her healing and renewal journey that she’s explained in social media posts regarding the track.

Despite the guitar riffs and solos that begin the intimate track, fans and critics weren’t prepared for the revelations that Thee Stallion confirmed in her track. Not only has she been struggling with her mental health, she further exposes her ex Pardi for cheating. She raps, “Pulled up, caught him cheatin’, gettin’ his d**k sucked in the same spot I’m sleepin’/ Lord, give me a break, I don’t know how much more of this shit I can take,” the lyrics continued. Fans immediately took to the defense and support of our beloved artists and have pushed the importance of protecting Black women in all spaces. After everything that she’s endured within the past few years, her strength is only admirable. We send Megan all of our love and support.
