Naomi Campbell’s Self-portrait

Naomi Campbell has made history AGAIN. The unforgettable supermodel just celebrated her 50th birthday and she is still turning heads. All while giving the younger generation models a run for their money.

Essence magazine just debuted their 50th anniversary issue and it was only right to have a dual celebration by having Campbell grace the cover. This specific cover isn’t like any of the other epic covers she’s done. These photos were captured on her iPhone right in her New York apartment.

Campbell used all the knowledge she has gained from her modeling career to style and conduct her very own photo shoot. She took to her Instagram to shed light on how this particular photo shoot was a sad reminder of how many people in the fashion industry are unable to work due to the coronavirus. However, she was thankful for the opportunity to show how resilient creatives can be.

I have previously spoken about how the fashion industry has turned to conducting photo shoots via FaceTime to practice social distancing. However, Campbell has take things to a whole new level by capturing her very own photos. I love the way that Campbell has embraced her age and the changes of the world. She has not only been able to keep up, but she has also surpassed many in the industry. It is evident that this may be our new norm until the pandemic is over and I’m honestly here for it!

I rep the 219, Indiana. I'm a wardrobe stylist and owner of Vintage By. B. I love shopping for pieces that are different and that I know nobody else will have! But one thing I hate about shopping is going broke doing so. Throughout the years of me working in retail, I have picked up a lot of tips and tricks for saving LOTS of money when shopping. I also go against trends by Vintage shopping. I find pieces that I can pair together to create works of art. You can call me a penny pincher, but I'll look BOMB while pinching my pennies :)
