True Star alum Nathanael Cole is making his debut into the beauty industry with gk Genesis Kosmetics and dismantling the belief that a cosmetics line has to have a certain face attached. Created with the mission of making women look good, feel good and get inspired, gk Genesis Kosmetics not only delivers quality products but a positive message with its items.
“I created five top messages and these messages will be implemented inside of the boxes randomly,” said Cole. “So as you’re putting on your lip gloss, you’re actually motivating and encouraging yourself.”
The idea to include messages in each product stemmed from the concept of fortune cookies, Cole said.
At the moment, the line consists of lip gloss and lip moisturizer but will soon expand to encompass more elements including lotion in the scents apple-pear and mango, just in time for the colder months.
Cole is the face and creator of the cosmetics line. From mixing lip glosses to packaging the product, he is responsible for all of the work that goes into this inspiring brand.
“My kitchen is my manufacturing place,” Cole said.
Cole’s goal for gk Genesis Kosmetics is to have it reach as many people as possible. The more people he reaches, the more he can inspire and motivate with the messaging behind the brand.
Cole shared that “gk is a hidden message for ‘God’s Kingdom.’” He also mentioned that the messages he includes in his products are scriptures from the Bible meant to uplift those reading them.
Products can be purchased at gkgenesiskosmetics.com and proceeds from sales will go to Genesis Kares for Women, known as GK4W.
