Ah, the joy of bringing in the new year. Is this the opportunity you’ve been waiting for to start a new year’s resolution? Is this the year that you’re graduating? Is this the year that you’re healing or opening your heart to a current or new relationship? Is this the year that you’re starting your dream career?
New Year’s Day is a special moment in time where you can spend self-care in solitude or making new memories with your loved ones. Personally, I’ve always been accustomed to bringing in the new year with family at home and sparkling grape juice or even at a party with friends. However, this year I want to try something different. If you’re spending New Year’s Eve with your significant other and don’t feel like going out this year, these are the perfect ideas for you.
- Create Vision Boards. I LOVE making vision boards. Truly, the one that I made during my sophomore year I can actually see results from. Manifestation is extremely important and is a positive activity to complete with your significant other. Make sure to not only manifest your dreams for the new year, but also within your relationship. What you speak and give out will only return to you.
- Bake Desserts Together. Okay, personally I don’t really cook but my boyfriend does. Whether it’s you or him, vice versa, or maybe try being in the kitchen for the first time together, this will be a creative activity with your partner. Bake new year themed desserts like cupcakes, cakes, or homemade sundaes wearing funny 2023 party accessories. Make this moment exciting for the two of you to bond. To make cooking easier, I love to throw on a movie or show. How about watching a feel-good or nostalgic movie? For all my TikTok girls and guys, you can even do a New Year’s Eve themed video featuring how you’re spending the night with your bae!
- A Romantic Dinner Inside. This is the perfect and intimate date idea for New Year’s Eve, especially if you don’t plan on leaving the house! You can either do this as a surprise or together, but create that romantic space for your significant other to feel special by bringing in this new year with you. Have rose petals covering the floors, candle lights, and the perfect set-up for a romantic dinner for two. I promise that your significant other won’t forget it.
Whether you and your boo decide to stay in the house or go out, make sure that both of you agree on the plan of how to celebrate. Make 2023 one of the best years for your relationship by starting off with healthy habits.
