The greatest President of all time, Barack Obama, recently surprised a group of hard working and lucky high school students at the Obama Youth Job Corps, which is an extension of the Obama Foundation and a non-profit organization, Urban Alliance. The partnership is driven to provide economic opportunity and shape young students in underprivileged communities in Chicago, Baltimore, Detroit, Washington D.C., and Northern Virginia to be the successful leaders that they are fully capable of being. High school sophomores, juniors, and seniors have the opportunity to participate in a year-long paid internship and “workforce readiness training” in the heart of the South Side of Chicago. The participating students got a chance to sit down and chat with President Obama, while also sharing their experiences participating in the Job Corps program, the Chicago Sun-Times reports. Without a doubt, Obama had to share words of advice, encouragement, and praise with these young community leaders. If you’re reading this President Obama, you’re amazing, but you already knew that!
“Part of our goal is also to make sure that you recognize that even as you succeed, that the communities from which you come are going to need you to be active and involved and engaged and focused. Because all of us, as citizens and generally, have an obligation to make sure that we’re tending to the city we live in.” – President Obama
