Real Conversation About Dreams

I want to take the time to address what the definition of a “dream” is. The dictionary defines it as a series of thoughts, images, and sensations occurring in a person’s mind during sleep. I define it as goals that are waiting to be achieved. This conversation is important because as I’m taking this journey through college, I am seeing people lose sight of what dreams are. It’s easy to do that. Adversity comes to destroy dreams and when that happens you feel like giving up.

As the economy worsens, we look at life like a maze. It looks messy. It looks like we can’t achieve things. Stress comes easy to us now-a-days. Our elders go on and on about how different it was in their days and for a while you think why our days are not like that. Our generation def has it worse. We’re stressed about college, money, relationships, friendships, and this transition into adulthood.

Think about this for a minute. When you’re stressed out, what do you instantly start doing? You begin to think. You begin to wish. You begin to dream. For those moments that you’re stuck in your emotions, your stress no longer matters because you’re at peace. What if you don’t ever get to the place that you’re dreaming of? Then you’ve failed. In order to get there, you have to wake up and work hard for it. Make your dreams your motivation to keep going. PLEASE DO NOT LOSE SIGHT OF YOUR DREAMS FOR ANY REASON! Keep going in life. Do what is right to get through life. Remember you have to endure the struggle to get to the “struggle free” life. Of course obstacles will be thrown at you,but catch them and learn from them.

Stay encouraged guys. Our generation has already seen too much failure. The jail rates, school dropouts, deaths, the violence, and the illegal issues are making our generation look extremely bad. We’re up next to be the people who are taking care of us now. Use your dreams as a passport to get to the next stage in your life. For those of us who have children or some day want them live a life that you’ll want to teach them. As you’re waiting for your moment, keep striving for success!
