[Recap] Much Success For Oreo Fest

Not too long ago, Chicago’s very own DJ Oreo bestowed the city with a grand night of entertainment with his first ever Oreo Fest. On December 27th, 2015, the festivities resumed for a night of good vibes and fun. The city gathered at Portage Theater, located on Chicago’s north side, to witness Oreo himself and one of the hottest names in Atlanta, Metro Boomin, go head to head in hopes of keeping the crowd hype.

Guest DJ’s Elz the DJ, Vic Lloyd, Joe FreshGood, and Evie the Cool kicked things off with a short sets to get the crowd ready for the main attraction. Shortly after arriving, it was hard to not be overtaken by the contagious energy of the crowd.

Local partygoer, Caylen Jackson went to the first Oreo Fest back in March of 2015 and was impressed with the turnout of the event. This time around Jackson went in with big expectations and was left in awe by Oreo’s ability to connect with his audience. “It was a good show,” says Jackson. She went on to say, ”The only reason I wasn’t so intrigued was because I don’t listen to rap that much, but I was glad that I went. The crowd was live and there barely was a dull moment.”

The show consisted of performances from Martin $ky, Saba, Dally Auston, Leather Corduroys, Katie Got Bandz, Rockie Fresh and many more. These guys definitely brought the house down with their mind-blowing stage presence. By then the crowd wanted more and were granted their wish when Atlanta’s finest, Metro Boomin’, rocked the stage followed by special guest performer, Lil Durk.

Overall, Oreo Fest: DJ Oreo vs. Metro Boomin was a success. “I liked how everyone came together and most importantly partied in peace,” says local rapper, Tibbs. The night ended peacefully with everyone fully satisfied with the evening’s events and a hope for more to come in 2016.
