I’ve always lived by the saying “Don’t take advice from someone that’s never done it”. Don’t get me wrong, I think that people can be open to receiving another perspective that may be objective and haven’t experienced or achieved that certain thing you’re yearning for, but in certain circumstances you have to be selective. For example, if you’re trying to become a billionaire before you hit 30, would you take advice from someone who’s not in the position that hasn’t achieved it? Exactly.
Therefore, Rihanna, worth 1.4 bill, is definitely a mogul that has manifested her dreams and achievements almost a decade ago, and she has managed to achieve them right within that time span. So, what are some key takeaways that any young entrepreneurs can gather from this multi-talented legendary star? It’s definitely to always have different streams of revenue coming in at all times. Not only has she dominated the music industry, but she has her hands in fashion, makeup, skin care, and more. All of her businesses thrive due to her credibility as a brand and the massive amount of time and dedication she put into them.
Honestly, being a young entrepreneur can be a risky move because essentially you’re betting on yourself all the time. You reap the benefits of profits and success, but you also get hit the hardest when you may go through any loss. However, it definitely costs to be the boss, and I ultimately think the risk is worth the reward. Also, when you’re young, I think the more risks and chances you take, the better. You have more time to become established and learn from any trial and error mistakes. But whatever your entrepreneurship vision is, you definitely need to make sure you’re not relying just on one stream of revenue.
Another important lesson that we can take from Rihanna’s billion dollar estate and entrepreneurship is that she’s incredibly vocal and advocates for inclusivity. She doesn’t discriminate and all of her businesses can cater to both men and women. This is incredibly crucial and important to establish within your career of knowing who your key audiences are. Ultimately they’ll do the work for you when the product is done.
If anyone knows how to manage a multi-billion dollar business, it’s definitely Rihanna. As a Black woman who came from nothing to now being one of the richest women in the world, she’s definitely a figure that all young entrepreneurs should study and look up to. Certain Universities have done a study and class on the business of the Kardashians and how they branded themselves into wealth, a course on Rihanna should definitely be next.
