On March 9th the 2nd annual International Women of Power Event was held in Marina Del Rey, California. The purpose if this event was to celebrate the outstanding accomplishments of women all over the world. These women have inspired Black girls everywhere to be all they can be.
These women are influencers, industry greats, dignitaries and local herons, who represent diversity and contribute to our Black communities.
This year the event was hosted by Wendy Raquel Robinson (from BET’s “The Game”) and several women were honored during the night. The Fashion Queen Award was given to none other than Ryan Destiny and I am completely in agreement with this decision.
Destiny is famously known for her role on Fox’s hit show “Star.” The 24-year-old was born and Detroit and has been in the entertainment industry since 2013.
I have been following her on Instagram for a while and her style is so clean and mesmerizing. She has an incredibly wide range and she can pretty much rock anything. I personally love her style because it’s simple, but makes a statement. When it comes to fashion, there really are no rules and sometimes a break is needed from the high-end fashion couture pieces. I am always looking for inspiration and Destiny’s style has definitely taught me that less is more!
